I like how used choreographic devises such as repetition, as you mentioned you used one section within the piece and repeated this with different heights and directions. What decision led you to do this?
I love you idea of improvisation to help you along with your choreography. What happened when you did this? Did you come up with more unique ideas than you usually would?
Thankyou! I decided to use the same different directions to portray the idea of a daily routine being forgotten or changed due to memory loss. I found when improvising I was able to be more free with my movements and explore different ideas more and I found this worked well with my music and piece overall.
This vlog is really good and shows your confidence. I really like the way your including variety in your movements and directions, I believe this will add a lot of depth to your piece. I like the fact you have spoken about your strengths and weaknesses within this vlog. I'm really excited to see how your piece looks.
This is a very well spoken and structured vlog, well done. I love how you came up with solutions to your challenges and found more confidence when choreographing in the latest choreography class. I also like how you have thought of portraying memory loss through repetition of movement.
What were your starting objectives? Do you feel you have achieved them? Furthermore, have you had to make any last minute changes to your choreography?
Thankyou Louisa! My starting objectives was ensuring I had at least three choreographic devices in my piece and I really wanted to make sure I added: retrograde, repetition and accumulation. All three of these have been added into my piece and help get the idea of memory loss across to the audience. I have made a few last minute changes to the ending of my piece as I wanted to all link and flow.
I enjoyed watching your vlog and liked how you explained how you overcame these weaknesses. I wondered whether you added anymore objectives whilst choreographing your piece?
Thankyou for your comment! At the start of week one of choreographing I created a timetable to help me manage my time well and ensuring I had added in all my objectives especially the choreographic devices.
